Covered patio over a pool at dusk in Katy, Texas — the kind of evening setting a fire feature is built for
Home/ Services/ Fire Pits & Fireplaces
Fire Pits & Fireplaces

Backyard evenings, extended

A custom fire pit or outdoor fireplace turns your patio into the place everyone gathers once the sun drops. We build them in real brick and stone to match your home — gas or wood, permits and gas lines handled.

Fire Features

Warmth that's built into the backyard

A fire feature is the difference between a patio you use in summer and one you use nine months a year. We design fire pits and fireplaces as part of the space — anchored to the patio, matched to your brick, and sized so people actually want to sit around them. Everything is built by our own licensed crew, and we handle the gas line, the ignition, and every HOA and city permit — including gas-line permits — so it's done right and done safe. Pricing is transparent and itemized, and the first consultation is always free.

What We Build

Fire features, done your way

Custom fire pits — gas or wood

Round, square, or built into a seat wall. Clean-burning natural gas at the flip of a switch, or a wood-burning pit for the real crackle — your call, we build both. From around $2,500.

Outdoor fireplaces

A full masonry fireplace with a raised hearth and chimney becomes the anchor of the whole patio — great for a TV wall above and cooler evenings around it. From around $6,500.

Stone & brick surrounds

The part you see is the part we obsess over. Brick, natural stone, or stacked stone veneer, laid to match your house and patio so the fire feature looks original to the home.

Fire + water combos

Pair a fire bowl or fireplace with a spillway, scupper, or bubbler for the fire-and-water look that reads high-end at night. Designed together so the plumbing and gas run clean.

Gas lines, ignition & safety

We run and permit the gas line, set the burner and ignition, and pressure-test the connection. Push-button or key-valve ignition, done to code — no guesswork, no shortcuts.

Built-in seat walls around the fire

Masonry seat walls wrap the fire so there's always somewhere to sit — cap them in stone or flagstone for extra seating that never needs to be hauled out or put away.

Every price above is a starting point — the real number depends on materials, size, and gas runs. Your free consultation comes with an honest, itemized quote.

We source materials to blend with your existing patio and facade, so the fire feature reads as original — not an add-on.

We handle the gas line, ignition, any lighting, and every permit — including gas-line permits — and pressure-test before we finish.

  • Texas-built to handle the weather

Firebrick fireboxes, proper footings, and weather-rated masonry that stands up to Gulf-coast heat, humidity, and the occasional freeze.

Good Questions

Fire features, answered

The things Katy homeowners ask most before we build.

Both are great — it comes down to how you'll use it. Natural gas lights instantly, burns clean, needs no hauling or ash cleanup, and turns off with a switch — the easy, low-maintenance choice most families pick. Wood-burning gives you the real crackle, aroma, and higher heat, but means storing wood and cleaning ash. We build both, and we'll walk you through the trade-offs for your yard during the free consultation.

Usually yes on both, and that's our job, not yours. A gas fire feature needs a gas line run from your meter and, in most Katy-area cities and HOAs, a gas-line permit. We handle the full permit process — HOA and city — run and pressure-test the line, and set the ignition to code. You don't chase paperwork or coordinate inspectors; we do all of it.

That's the whole point of hiring a masonry crew. We source brick and stone to blend with your existing patio and facade, match mortar color and joint style, and lay it so the fire feature looks like it was always there. If your exact brick is discontinued, we'll find the closest match and design around it.

It depends on the type of feature, your local fire code, and any HOA rules — a fully enclosed masonry fireplace with a proper firebox and chimney can sit against a covered patio, while an open fire pit needs more clearance from the house and structures overhead. We check the setbacks for your specific spot before we design, so the placement is both safe and code-compliant.

Yes — a large share of our fire features are added to patios that are already built. We assess the existing slab and footing to make sure it can carry the weight (a full masonry fireplace is heavy and may need its own footing), then tie the new work into your patio and match the materials. If the slab needs reinforcing, we'll tell you up front in the quote.

Custom fire pits start around $2,500 and full masonry outdoor fireplaces start around $6,500 — the final price depends on size, the brick or stone you choose, how far the gas line has to run, and any seat walls or water features you add on. Every quote is itemized so you see exactly what you're paying for, and the consultation is free with no obligation.
